Old Thorns Hotel Wedding Fayre - 8th October 2023

Old Thorns Hotel & Resort: A Historic Wedding Venue in Hampshire

Sinclair Wedding Films will be at the Old Thorns Hotel Wedding Fayre on Sunday 8th of October 2023 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. This will be our fourth time at this incredible venue, as we had the great pleasure of filming Lauren and Tom’s wedding in December 2022, and Gemma and Luke’s wedding in August of this year at Old Thorns on top of the pleasure of exhibiting at both PNM Weddings Fayres here in 2023. The wedding fayre is a great opportunity for anyone who would like to meet us in person and chat about your wedding videography or wedding drone videography; or ask any other questions you might have about our packages.

Old Thorns Hotel & Resort in Hampshire: A historical overview

Nestled in the picturesque Hampshire countryside, Old Thorns Hotel & Resort is a unique destination with a rich history. The estate was originally a working dairy farm, purchased in 1949 by Ken Wood, founder of the Kenwood manufacturing company. Wood made considerable improvements to the farm, including adding a large house, stables, and an outdoor swimming pool.

In the late 1970s, Wood decided to build a golf course on the estate. He commissioned Commander John Harris, Britain's most famous golf course architect of the day, to design the course. Harris completed the design in 1976, and the Old Thorns Golf Club opened in 1978.

The hotel opened in 1982, and Old Thorns quickly became a popular destination for golfers and other visitors alike. The estate continued to grow and develop over the next few decades, with the addition of new amenities such as a spa, conference facilities, and self-catering apartments.

In 2013, UCF Chinese investment group purchased the estate from the Shaw family. Further investment in facilities and accommodation followed, including the development of 50 new apartments.

Today, Old Thorns Hotel & Resort is one of the south of England's most highly regarded resort destinations. It offers a wide range of amenities and experiences for guests of all ages, including:
